The 199th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Sunday 6th May 2012 over the Rowley Mile, was Homecoming Queen (25/1), a bay filly by Holy Roman Emperor out of Lagrion, owned by Mrs John Magnier, Derrick Smith and Michael Tabor. The surprise winner won by 9 lengths in 1 minute 40.45 secs, with a further length between second and third. A field of 17 runners contested the race which was worth £213,513 (Equivalent to £239,100 in 2017)
