THE FINAL
Ballyhennesey Seal was made the even money favourite to land the Derby from the one box. Following the withdrawl of the in-season Kilpeacon Bride, Rhynn Castle was allowed to run as a reserve, although he went off at 20/1 and longer. As the traps rose it was the favourite who broke best, from the reserve and Magic Bohemian. Around the first and Ballyhennesy built a clear lead from Magic Bohemian, while Duffy's arrival put paid to any chance he or Celtic Chief had by checking and bumping the six dog. Although both Magic and Rhynn maintained their gallop throughout, it was Ballyhennesy who prevailed by 5 lengths, with Rhynn claiming second spot a length ahead of Macic Bohemian.
