THE FINAL
With Monday's News reaching the final and trying to emulate his success of the year before, it was always going to be an exciting final. Monday's was made the 9/4 favourite, but three others, Patsys Record, Lacken Invader and Trevs Perfection were all quietly fancied. As the traps rose it was Monday's who made his usual slick break, closely followed by Trevs Perfection. As they swung around the first Mondays characteristicallywent wide enabling Tevs to sneak up his inside. From here on in it was Trevs who dominated the race, despite Monday's maintaining a strong gallop. Trevs had 2 lengths to spare at the line, and Monday's easily held off the strong finishing wide dog, Slaney Record, by a length and a half to gain second.
