The 60th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Tuesday 28th April 1868 over the Rowley Mile, was Moslem (100/7), a brown colt by Knight of St Patrick, owned by Mr William S Crawfurd, but only after dead-heating with Formosa and being allowed to walk over in the rematch. The race was a dead-heat in 1 minute 52.5 secs, with 4 lengths back to the third. A field of 14 runners contested the race which was worth £5,650 (Equivalent to £582,000 in 2017)
