The 160th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 1st May 1968 over the Rowley Mile, was Sir Ivor (11/8 fav), a bay colt by Sir Gaylord out of Attica, owned by Mr Raymond Guest. The winner won by a length and a half in 1 minute 39.26 secs, with 2 1/2 lengths back to the third. A field of 10 runners contested the race which was worth £23,586 (Equivalent to £393,900 in 2017)
