| 1876 First evidence of a one day annual race meeting in the vicinity of Towcester, but not on the present day course. 1906 Meeting takes place near Towcester on Easter Saturday. The feature race is the Commemorative Challenge Cup Steeplechase. |
1928 A meeting takes place under National Hunt rules. The Towcester Racecourse Company was formed under the direction of Lord Hesketh, and it was on his country estate that the racecourse developed. The first grandstand at the course was built in time for this first meeting. |
