DELTA DOWNS RACECOURSE
The racecourse of Delta Downs can be found in the town of Vinton in the state of Louisiana. It first opened its gates to thoroughbred racing in the early 1970's and also hosts quarter horse races. The track is oval in shape and has a running circumference of 6 furlongs. The principal race is the Grade III Delta Jackpot Stakes for 2 year olds over 8 and a half furlongs. It was first contested in 2002 when won by Outta Here ridden by Kent Desormeaux, and more recently in 2008 Big Drama was triumphant in the hands of Eibar Coa.
	It also hosts the Delta Princess Stakes for fillies.
