Eagle Farm racecourse is situated about 7 kilometres from the centre of Brisbane and hosts 5 Group One races each year all run at the June meeting. These include the Stradbroke Handicap over 1400 metres, the T J Smith Open 2 year old race over 1600 metres and the weight for age Winter Stakes run over 1600 metres.

The Queensland Oaks is for 3 year old fillies and is also run over 2400 metres. It was won in 1951 by Maltmaid and in 2008 Riva San completed the Derby/Oaks double.
