| The final Speedway meeting at The Stadium, Ellesmere Port took place on Boxing Day 1985 when a 39 all draw suited both parties in the Past and Prest team match. Greyhound racing and speedway seem to go hand in hand, but on this occasion the speedway circuit was replaced by a greyhound track. It was on the 29th February 1988 that the inaugural greyhound race meeting took place with the very first race being won by the 3/1 Go Ben Go. | |||||||
The track holds races over 300 yards up to marathon distances of 800 yards. The principal races at the track in the past have been the Cheshire Oaks and the Whitbread Open. |
