HAWERA RACECOURSE
The Hawera racecourse is on North Island in the Taranaki region. Record show that the Opunake Racing Club first organised races as early as 1886. They now hold a meeting at the racecourse each July.
	Also hosting meetings at the track on at least 3 occasions annually is the Egmont Racing Club. Their meetings are scheduled for May, September and October.
The principal races at the track are the Group 3 Fillies and Mares WFA Hawkeye at Stonebridge Stakes which is contested over 1400 metres each October.
	It also hosts the Egmont Cup
