The 10th running of the Irish Oaks was held on Wednesday 20th July 1904 over 1 mile of The Curragh, starting at the Madrid Post. A pot of 300 sovereigns was availble, 20 sovereigns to the second and 10 sovereigns to the third. The winner was owned by Mr J Lonsdale, trained by Hoysted at Waterford Lodge, Curragh, and ridden by W Higgs. The winner won by 6 lengths, with 4 lengths between second and third.

Once the tapes had been released Rusualka led the way from Jean's Folly, Topstone, Vervel and Red Heart;s Pride last. After just a furlong Topstone took control, followed closely by the favourite Jean's Folly. Rounding the home turn Topstone still held a narrow lead, but the favourite was done with, being passed by Vervel and Red Heart's Pride. Topstone strode clear to win unchallenged by 6 lengths, with 4 lengths between Red Heart's Pride and Vervel.
