NAVAN RACECOURSE

It was in 1920 that Navan, in County Meath, held its first race meeting on its picturesque 181 acre site.

The princiapl race at the track is the Troytown Chase. In 2000 and 2001 Lyreen Wonder recorded back to back wins in the event.

In 2006 the relative outsider Cane Brake won the race at 10/1. In the 10 years between 1998 and the present this was the longest priced winner. In 2008 Notre Pere was successful.
