PELAW GRANGE GREYHOUND STADIUM

Chester-le-Street is the location of the greyhound track of Pelaw Grange. Its traditional race nights in the past have been Monday, Thursday and Saturday evenings and the distances ranged from 270 yard sprints up to 990 yard extended marathons.

The track has hosted a number of principal races throughout its history, including the Newcastle Rose Bowl over 445 yards and the Whitfields Oaks also over the same distance.
