Earliest meeting: Monday 22nd May 1600
Final meeting: Saturday 5th July 1845
One of the earliest records of a race meeting taking place in the county of Shropshire was on Prees Heath on Monday 22nd May 1600. The meeting, close to the town of Whitchurch, was held in Whit week and may have been one of many held on the Heath at the start of the century. By 1727 Whitchurch was holding regular meetings in May or June on Prees Heath. The final meeting took place on 5th July 1845.
