SAN JUAN RACECOURSE  
The racecourse Hipodromo El Nuevo Comandante can be found in the city of San Juan in Puerto Rico. It is situated in the east of San Juan in Canovanas and opened for racing on 31st October 1976. It holds racing throughout the year, 5 days per week, including racing on Saturday and Sunday.
  Its principal race is the Group I Clasico del Caribe for 3 year olds, which was first run over 9 furlongs in 1966. The inaugural winner was the appropriately named Victoreado ridden by Gustavo Avila. Most recently in 2008  it was won by Sicotico ridden by Joel Rosario.  
In 2006 the course was sold and renamed Hipodromo Camarero.
