TE AWAMUTU RACECOURSE  
The Waipa Racing Club use Te Awamutu racecourse as their base. The course is situated in the Waikato region of North Island and the town as the 'Rose Town'.
  The Waipa Racing Club was founded in 1915.

 

 
A feature race is the Te Awamutu Wines &   Spirits Cup which is run each July. On 5th July 2008 Waikeeadacash was successful when ridden by Vinny Colgan.
  The course is also home to Cambridge Trotting Club who did use it in the mid 1970's before leaving, but returned in December 2006. The course also hosts the John Grylls Memorial Classic initiated in 1990.
