Situated on Racecourse Road in Bairnsdale in the State of Victoria, the Bairnsdale Racecourse can boast a history dating back to 1862. Its inaugural meeting was held in February 1862 and it has enjoyed strong local support ever since.
By 1964 it had grown even stronger when the Bairnsdale Racing Club merged with local Lindenow and together they launched a newly positioned racecourse. The new course opened in November 1976 and Premier Rupert Hamer was there to officiate.

Also holding one meeting a year at the racecourse is Bairnsdale Hibernian Racing Club.
One of its feature races is the Lindenow Cup held around Easter.
