CLONMEL RACECOURSE
Racing first took place at Clonmel in County Tipperary in the early 1800's, but it was not until 1913 that the course, then known as Powerstone Park, became enclosed and charged for admission.
Up to 1913 the course had been a troublesome area, but Villiers Morton Jackson took the inspired decision to enclose and to charge, and the course went from strength to strength.

In 1998 the course underwent a significant period of redevelopment with new weighing rooms, new turnstiles and a new grandstand.
