DONALD RACECOURSE
The Donald Racecourse can be reached via the Western Highway about 180 miles North West of Melbourne in Victoria State.
It is known that racing took place in the vicinity of the twon in 1850 and there are written records of a meeting taking place in December 1864.

It was not until 1875 that the Donald Turf Club was formed and they organised their first meeting on Boxing Day 1875. The course gained its first grandstand in 1926.
The Club became the Donald and District Turf Club in 1963 when merging with the Corack race Club and within 15 years a further merger took place with the Watchem and Birchip Race Clubs. The principal race is the Donald Cup which is contested each November.
