GELSENKIRCHEN RACECOURSE  
The racecourse at Gelsenkirchen, 'Trabrennbahn Gelsenkirchen' is situated in the city of the same name and first witnessed racing in 1912.
  The principal race was the Group 1 Rhineland-Pokal run over 2400 metres. It was first run in 1957 when Thila was successful. It was last run at the course in 2000 when Catella was victorious. The race was then transferred to Cologne.
