| Speedway took place for the first
time at Heathersfield Stadium on Whitecross Farm in 1989. The initial meeting, a training
match, was held on 5th August of that year when Hunters Horrors were successful by 30-25
against Prosser's Posers. There followed a number of Open Race years and Training years
until 1994. The team entered the British League third tier for the 1994 season and the Linlithgow Lightning enjoyed a 42-35 success against Iwade. |
||||
| The team were Knockout Cup winners in 1996 and were also League Champions in that same year. | ||||
| After 4 years participating in the leagues the team bowed out of league competition, with their final match on 14th September 1997. Since then they have operated in Conference Leagues and were renamed as Lightning Ashfield Giants. | ||||
| Throughout there brief period of history the team have been known as the Lightning. | ||||
