MACAU RACECOURSE

Macau racecourse can be found in Taipa and is run by the Macau Jockey Club which was established in 1980.

In 1980 the Macau Trotting Club was formed but failed to secure the popular support needed to make the venture a success and horse racing began in 1989, administered by the Macau Jockey Club.

In 2008 the Macau Derby was run on the 28th April over 1800 metres and was won by the New Zealand bred Farson, ridden by Fausto Durso. The previous years 2007 Derby had been won by Ka Lam Fortune.
