|With grateful thanks to Richard English for the rare scan of the badge.||A view of the racecourse stands.|
|I am grateful to Jo Parry for providing a picture of Jim Underwood on Bright Flight by Aeroplane out of Sun Girl, which was taken at Northolt in 1936.|
4th May 1929
In Middlesex, between Harrow and Ealing.
5 furlongs to 1 ½ miles.
WORLD WAR I
Had not opened by then.
WORLD WAR II
Requisitioned by the War Office as a POW camp.
A large electronic clock started to tick once the ponies had been released from the starting gate at Northolt Park.
What did Northolt Park have in place, which the Jockey Club did not achieve until 1948?
CURRENT SITUATIONVery grateful to Neal Underwood who observes that there are a few visible signs of the racecourse, including the entrance gates and the steps up to the Grandstand. The finishing straight is also still visible. On the remainder of the 150 acre site is a housing estate.
