ROCKINGHAM PARK RACECOURSE
The racecourse at Rockingham Park is situated in the state of New Hampshire at Salem. It was developed in 1906 and opened its gates for the first time on 28th June of that year. At that first meeting a crowd in excess of 10000 was in attendance and the very first race was won by Alyth, although its first stint as a racecourse was short lived because of gaming laws.
The course gained fame in 1935 and 1936 when the great Seabiscuit gained back to back wins. A pair of members and guest badges are shown below from that period courtesy of Richard Gauthier.

Its principal race is the New Hampshire Sweepstakes which was first run in 1964.
The Sweepstake has been held in summer at the track since 1984. The course is also famed for harness racing.
