WOOLAMAI RACECOURSE
The Woolamai Racecourse is situated at the Woolamai Reserve in Victoria State.
Records show that the earliest meeting was held here in 1888, although records also show that a horse called Woolomai won the 1875 Melbourne Cup at the rewarding odds of 20/1.

The racecourse was threatened with closure in 1909 but local support enabled it to stay in operation. Although interest then began to wane, meetings were held during World War II to revive interest.
In 1945 the racecourse was strengthened still further when Phillip Island Race Club agreed to make use of the facility.
